This incredible historic home circa 1859 is one of only two properties remaining from Le Grand Cannon Estate which formerly extended along South Prospect Street from Cliff to Ledge Road. This property was built in the style of the French Second Empire as a grand central carriage barn with stables and tack room places on either side. The timeless construction features striking yellow and redstone, arched doorways and dormers, and a massive slate mansard hipped roof. The buckthorn hedge and brick wall bordering Cliff Street, and the stone entry posts on the east side, date to the original construction, when carriages entered from South Prospect Street. Although the entrance is now on Cliff Street, the most impressive views of this extraordinary home are on the south side and hidden from passers-by.
